Beaujolais Villages harvest started on Monday 13th September and a run-up of 10 days of glorious sunshine has helped develop phenolic ripeness in the grapes. As with the majority in the Beaujolais region, their vineyards were affected by the early April frosts with Beaujolais and Villages communes experiencing 50% loss of grapes, slightly less in the Crus with more altitude with a resulting effect on pricing.
Tasting Notes: This wine shows bright and crunchy red fruits, fresh acidity, and gentle tannins. Light but not inconsequential, this is the perfect "vin de soif" for any occasion.
Food Matching: Charcuterie, a ploughman's, bangers and mash, roast pork or duck, grilled tuna, vegetarian moussaka... the list just keeps going. As great at a party as it is with your favourite boxed set on a rainy evening.
